Chimney Sweeping in Dayton, OH

A clean flue is the difference between a cozy fire and a chimney fire. Our sweeps pull the soot, tar, and creosote out of your flue, smoke chamber, and firebox so smoke draws up instead of back into the room.

What's included

  • Full brush-and-rod sweep of the flue and smoke chamber
  • HEPA vacuum containment — no dust on your floors or mantel
  • Firebox and damper cleaned and checked
  • Level-1 safety inspection included with every sweep

Most Dayton homeowners only think about the chimney when the fireplace starts smelling or smoking. By then, creosote has usually built up. We recommend a sweep once a heating season for anyone who burns regularly — sooner if you burn a lot of unseasoned wood.

Our crew lays down drop cloths, runs a HEPA vacuum the entire time, and leaves the hearth cleaner than we found it. You get before-and-after photos and a straight answer on whether anything needs attention.

Questions we get a lot

How often does a chimney really need to be cleaned?

The CSIA recommends a professional sweep and inspection once a year for any chimney you use regularly. If you burn a lot of wood — especially unseasoned wood — creosote builds up faster and you may need it more often.

Can I clean my chimney myself?

You can buy a brush kit, but a DIY sweep skips the safety inspection and can't remove glazed creosote, which needs rotary tools. You also won't know whether the flue, liner, and crown are actually safe. For most homeowners, an annual certified sweep is the better call.

How long does a chimney sweep take?

A standard single-flue sweep and inspection takes about 45 minutes to an hour. Heavy creosote or a second flue can add time, and we'll tell you before we start.

Will sweeping make a mess in my house?

No. We seal the fireplace opening, run a HEPA vacuum throughout, and put down drop cloths. The goal is that you can't tell we were there except for a cleaner chimney.
